Severus hadn’t seen Lucius in ages, the last time he saw him was when they met near the lake after a meeting. They hadn’t really kept in contact, Severus and Lucius alike out of stubbornness, waiting for the other to make the contact. Severus at last gave in and penned, I’m coming over,’” He didn’t even bother signing it, he figured he would know who it was. The note was send off with Eris, his black owl that Lucius had gotten him years ago. Moments later he left the castle and made his way to the boundary, once there he disapparated and soon was standing in front of the gates to the manor. With a deep breath he opened the gates and made his way to the door. He knocked twice, as usual for him and waited.

Lucius paced angrily around his study when an owl tapped at his window. He huffed loudly, hating to be bother before noticing, in fact recognizing, the bird who was causing the ruckus He walked quickly to the other side of the room, undoing the antique hatch and letting Eris fly in. He perched next to Lucius’ own owl, giving the man a moment to take the parchment. As he read it over, he heard a loud knock on the door downstairs. His eyes grew wide as he dropped the parchment, rushing downstairs to catch the visitor before Narcissa has the chance to do so. In one swift movement, he opened the door, shuffling the other inside with no questions. “Upstairs, now.” He demanded.

The door opened hastily and in what could be said in an angry manner. Lucius was there, he looked rather angry and his voice confirmed the anger, Severus heard the demand and looked at him briefly before he headed upstairs to the study. He turned and crossed his arms to wait for Lucius.

Lucius closed the front door as quietly as he could. “I’ve got it, darling! Only Rodolphus with a parcel! Told me to pass along that your sister says hello!” He called out to his wife, whom he assumed was close-by. Lucius paused for a moment to catch his breath before making his way after Severus, up the stairs to his study. Upon reaching the doorway, he met the other who stood before him, arms crossed over his chest. “Inside?” He suggested, his voice calming slightly, though he was obviously faking it.

He uncrossed his arms and walked inside, once there he strode directly to his chair, or so he considered it, he sat and shook his head without a word. Lucius was still embarrassed about him, go figure. “Lucius.” It was the only form of greeting he gave to the other man. Of course it was Severus’ idea to come here, to see the one he missed so much lately but now he didn’t know why he had come, he didn’t know if Lucius even wanted him here.

“Severus.” He replied, letting out a dramatic sigh of relief as he closed the door to the study behind them. He entered the room, striding to where Severus sat, taking a seat in the armchair across him. “I apologize for…that.” He paused. “It is just for the best, at the moment, that she does not know of your presence in the Manor.”

He shook his head. “You let her control you far too much Lucius, a relationship hardly if at all exist between us anymore and yet you continue to worry about your darling wife.” Severus looked at him for a moment before he averted his gaze.

“That is exactly it Severus. She is my wife.” He said the last word with emphasis, then sighing and sitting back in the armchair, covering his eyes and rubbing his forehead. “And the last thing I bloody need right now is another argument about you.” He removed his hand and looked at the other. “You should have heard her after you and I met at the lake a while back.” He gave a fake, sarcastic grin. “Lovely, if I may say so myself.” He rose from his seat and walked to the liquor cabinet for a bottle.

Severus rolled his eyes and sat back. “Then don’t bloody argue, I get it, your wife has replaced everyone in your life. Never thought I would live to the day when a Malfoy would bend at the will of his wife.” His tone was full of distain and he did not care.

Lucius selected a bottle, bringing it back and setting it between them on the table. Two glasses sat by its side, but he yet to fill them, taking a seat again instead. “You’ve come to insult me?” He asked in a spiteful manner. “All this time I’ve been with you then? Is that what you have always believed? Because I’ll tell you this Severus, I don’t waste my time on just anyone.”

“”I’ve come to show you I have missed you, seeing that it went unnoticed I decided to instead insult you.” He listened to the rest of his comment. “I used to hold you in the highest esteem, defend your honor to all, then you changed, you decided bending to the will of your wife was what you should do.”

“At the time things were dark? And you cannot?” He waited for him to finish, he was holding back as much as he could but soon felt he was going to break for inside his heart felt a familiar tug, one that felt as though life were shattering and his heart was getting the blow.

“You seemed, so simply put, to be giving up on your life.” He took a moment to observe the silence that surrounded them. “I could not…I did not know how to handle it…” Lucius paused again.

He shook his head. “So you decided it would be wise to leave me, leave the relationship when I wished my life to end rather than assist me? Did it not occur to you that you leaving would only intensify the feeling?”

“It seemed to me that I caused much more harm than good.” He turned away again, using his hands as he spoke with his back turned to the other man. “Everything I come with; this family…” He motioned to the Manor in the distance. “My time, my commitments…”

He sighed. “It hurts to think that I mean so little in your life. It pains me to think of all that has occurred in my life, all that has occurred on my own fault.” He paused and looked at Lucius’ back. “Though many problems come with you I love you. Admittedly I loathe your family commitment and the fact that your darling wife all but forbids you to see me.”

(HAHA, I’ll be on as much as I can, but if I suddenly disappear, its because my computer turned itself off again. Its running okay for now, so fingers crossed.)

(I don’t know! *cries* I’ve done a virus check, a defrag, everything. When it turns all the way off, it has to do a restore about 10 times, of which it tells me “the problem cannot be fixed through restore”, and then it will FINALLY start all the way up. Ugh, I’m figuring out how to do just a FULL like, manufacturer’s restore but I have no USB to back up my photos/music/writing, so…FRUSTRATING TO SAY THE LEAST.)

(Yeah if a defrag and restore of all the settings did not work is sounds like a virus or something in the software itself causing the problem, rather common with PCs unfortunately. Best option is just that, a manufactures restore where you wipe the PC of even windows and have to reinstall everything. It sucks but it should clear up the problem at least for a while. As for the USB, that really sucks, maybe you can put the photos in a private album on FB? As for the music, you have it in itunes right? And the writing email it to yourself. But if you can I recommend just getting a USB tomorrow since that is your best option. )

(See the problem I’m having is that I don’t think my laptop came with a disk with Windows on it. So if I wipe it, and it takes windows off, how the hell do I get it back? Yeah, there is a staples by my work so I’ll go grab a cheapy USB. It’ll be easier that way and I could use one anyways.)

(Okay, how old is your computer?

Because depending on the age you can call the company that the computer is produced by and tell them the problem, they usually will recommend wiping the computer as I said, because in IT that is usually the best option and what I always did when I worked in IT. Wiping it will be the best solution because it basically reimages everything so that the software that may have become corrupted by itself or by virus is back to normal. So call them and usually they will send out a disk with Windows on it, granted it will take a few days but once you have it you can get going. It does take a rather large deal of time to do the whole process but it is worth it.)

(I think I’ll do that. Its less than a year old so they really should. If not, its from Best Buy and maybe I can go to them? Yeah, it’ll be time consuming but I’d rather have my reliable computer back.)

(Ohhh yeah your grandma got it for you. Ok that is perfect because it is still under factory warranty. All you need to do is call them and they should send a disk without a problem or suggest another solution that may or may not work. If it doesn’t then their course of action will be the disk. If for some wayward reason their tech support are idiots try geeksquad, they may be able to provide the disk for a small fee.)

“I doubt it, Severus, honestly. The affiliation with Potter will have The Dark Lord questioning the loyalty of my family.” He bit onto a trembling lip and rose to his feet, dusting off his trousers. “Even if he had the reaction you suspect, is that any better? Making my son a pawn in this..this…” He used his hands as he spoke, then shaking it off.

“Do not doubt what you do not know yet Lucius as for your son being a pawn it would be better than your son being dead would it not?” He moved closer to him and sat up before he pulled Lucius’ face toward his own. “You must deal with this situation Lucius.”

“Yes…yes I suppose you are correct in that.” He shook his head slowly, letting out a heavy sigh. “I will deal with it, but I am unsure as to where to start.” His eye flickered up and met the other’s. Lucius said nothing more.

“I know I am correct it in Lucius, you must cope.” He kissed him gently and moved the hair from his face. “You are Lucius Malfoy, you can do this.”

He parted his lips from the other quickly, turning away and running his fingers over them. It had been so long, too long, since such contact was made. Lucius choked on his words, then growing silent, attempting to collect his thoughts.

His face dropped when Lucius turned, his heart seemingly doing the same. Lucius did not kiss him back, said nothing, and turned from him. What did he expect after all this time. He sighed. “Perhaps I should leave.”

“Do not…” He said slowly, turning back to him. “I…we never discussed the continuation of our…relationship.” He let his eyes flicker up from the ground. “I do think it is,” He paused. “of importance.”

“Clearly all feeling you once had is lost when I merely placed a small kiss upon you and you turn Lucius. You ended the relationship and perhaps I did not believe it, though now it seems it is truly what you wished for.” He was upset and in a slight way it was obvious.

“Is that truly what you think, Severus?” He took a step forward, still attempting to meet his eyes. At last, he took his hand, gently placing it under the other’s chin and lifting his head.

Severus was tired of hiding his emotions and his head was down, tears welling up, he hated when his body betrayed him and wished to respond in such a way. He felt Lucius’ hand on his chin and soon his face was lifted gently so he was looking eye to eye with Lucius. He turned his glance another way and shook his head. “It seems I no longer am aware of what I think.”

“You do not think it possible that I was caught off guard. That…it has been so long…” He paused again, his mind racing. “Months…” Lucius, the man he was, still kept a guard up, but upon seeing the other fall to pieces, he felt unable to hold back much more.
